Impromptu Photo Shoot

I was on my way upstairs a few hours ago when little Christianna walked by and flopped on the carpet in one of her favorite "sun spots"--where light from a window creates a spotlight effect. It seemed like an opportunity for some cute photos, but I sure could have picked a more cooperative subject. My little sister is one of the goofiest kids on planet earth, and she took the opportunity to make silly faces and roll around a lot (which is not easy to handle when you're already working in limited light with slower shutter speeds!); she also couldn't seem to pose comfortably...probably because little kids aren't comfortable being comfortable. This shot captures one of her more peaceful moments.

Rebecca was more cooperative for me. Christianna wanted to join her in these shots, but instead I made her my assistant--she had the idea of tickling Becca's toes to make her smile better.
